After a 61-hour trip via boat from Surabaya to Labuan Bajo, our brand new WIJABA Mara W. Breech Flores Mobile Library has arrived and is nearly ready to be launched!
This library-on-wheels is the first of its kind in Flores and will serve 50 schools with 100 books each per month. We estimate that in 2022 alone, it will serve 15,000 children who would not otherwise have access to a library.
We're thrilled to launch our 4th mobile library and can't wait to meet the bright young readers that it reaches! Thank you to the Mara W. Breech Foundation for bringing this project to life.
The operation of the mobile library is dependent upon safe school opening and operations due to the pandemic.
